Take a dip at Schenley

Need a break from the ungodly heat and humidity that characterizes summer in Pittsburgh?… Need a break from the ungodly heat and humidity that characterizes summer in Pittsburgh? Break out your best Speedo or yellow polka-dot bikini and jump into the Schenley Park Pool. Open since June, the pool is waiting to cool you off right through Labor Day.

Pool hours are 1 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. on weekdays and 1 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. on weekends. Daily admission costs four bucks and a $30 summer pass gets you all the cool, chlorinated water you can handle.

“Compared to other pools in the city, Schenley Park’s pool is the least expensive,” said Mike Radley, assistant director for city parks. “$30 for the summer is a great deal, and even $4 for a day is pretty cheap.”

The pool is located in the heart of Schenley Park on Overlook Drive, directly across from the Andersen Street Playground.
