The police stopped the car on Forbes Avenue right before its intersection with Bigelow Boulevard, near the bus stop next to the Hillman Library.

Lt. Robert Roth, from the Zone 2 police department that covers the areas around Downtown, the Strip District and the Hill District, said that they had just run a routine check on the license plate of the car and that it came back as reported stolen.

“So when she stopped we apprehended her,” Roth said.

Roth also said that Zone 4 officers assisted Zone 2 officers in the arrest.

The car was there until about 6:19 p.m. when a tow truck came and took it away.
