Man on the street with D. Clark Denison

Q: Did you watch the president’s State of the Union Address Tuesday evening? Why or why… Q: Did you watch the president’s State of the Union Address Tuesday evening? Why or why not?

Jeff Straw – Duquesne alumnus “Yes, I did watch it. I’m interested in what the president had to say and where he wants to take things in the country. I thought it was well done.”

Kristin Hamer – Senior, communication disorders “No, I did not, I’m really bad at following current events. I have very little idea about what’s going on.”

Anna Khromey – Junior, business “No, I am not from this country, and I don’t even know about such things.”

Aileen Carlos – Senior, writing “I did not watch it. I can find the synopsis or summaries in other media forms, then I don’t have to listen to him speak.”

Rob Wise – Sophomore, studio arts “I watched part of it. It was pretty interesting to see what he had to say and how people reacted to it. It seems like every time he speaks, he’s got a new idea. Whether or not people react positively or negatively to it, that’s really what I watch for.”

Ladahvia Flournoy – Fifth year, bioengineering “I watched parts of it, simply because I thought the president sounded crazy. I would tune in to certain parts, and then I would tune out because he would get on my nerves with all the stuff he was talking about.”
