Al Gore is speaking at a congressional hearing regarding global warming. He sits alone in the center of the enormous courtroom, facing the Senate. He looks kinda fat.
Gore: In the 1930s, with the threat of the Third Reich mounting, Winston Churchill delivered this message to the people of the United Kingdom. “The era of procrastination, of half-measures, of soothing and baffling expedients is coming to a close. We are entering an era of consequences.” Gentlemen, we too are entering an era of consequences. Our own mounting threat, global warming, has come to a head. The time has come for us to collectively acknowledge this inconvenient truth.
Congressman 1: Excuse me Mr. Gore, but I’m afraid the only “inconvenient truth” you have to acknowledge is that you lost the presidency.
Gore: Um
