With a fourth-ranked basketball team, we’ve got a lot to be thankful for, especially because our football team has won 11 games in the last two years. It gives us a team to root for — we actually have a chance of winning games. It’s a great time to be in the Zoo.
We’re incredibly thankful for the coup that occurred in Congress this midterm election. With the Dems back in power, we might be able to turn this car around and go back to the kind of decision-making and diplomacy that set high standards for democracy around the world.
Rumsfeld’s timely resignation gives us ample reasons to be thankful. Now if we could just get Carl Rove to throw in the hat.
Thankfully the weather in Pittsburgh hasn’t been too bad, so far. Ask any Pitt student; slushy Oakland winters are the worst. High-five to Global Warming for holding the bad weather at bay. The weather outlook for break is fantastic in the Pittsburgh area. Although we’re not terribly superstitious, we can’t help but feel like we just might have jinxed ourselves.
We’re thankful to be rolling in bills – 1 billion bills that is. Thanks to the Discover a World of Possibilities campaign and the hard work of our Telefund crew, we’re going to be riding this latest wave of Pitt accomplishment all the way to the bank. The holidays came early for Pitt this year, and we hope that the money is effectively distributed and that everyone benefits from the green that’s rolling in.
We’re thankful for King Kong Pizzas. They just rock.
It’s fantastic that O.J.’s “hypothetical” tell-all was canceled. Apparently News Corp., the owner of Fox network, hasn’t sold their soul and good sense prevailed. “If I Did It” would have been one of the most disgusting, arrogant displays of abuse of media we’ve seen all year, so we’re glad it was canned. Thanks, News Corp.
We’re also thankful that another Student Government Board election is over. Now we can all go back to not caring about what they’re doing until next year’s elections.
After a whirlwind 19-month romance, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes finally got married this weekend in an Italian castle outside of Rome. Baby Suri’s probably thankful that her folks are finally hitched, but we’re thankful that the world can breathe a sigh of relief and get on with their lives.
And speaking of getting on with our lives, we’re extremely thankful that Britney Spears is back on the market. No more Mrs. Federline! This hot mama of two is living large and celebrating her newly filed freedom. Let’s just hope she’s over her “Oops” and she doesn’t do it again.
And finally, what we’re most thankful for is a break. Enjoy this respite from class and be safe. See you on Monday.
