Students still set to visit London

While the news of recent terrorist bombings in London rattled people around the world, it did… While the news of recent terrorist bombings in London rattled people around the world, it did not change the itinerary for the Semester at Sea program, which is touring Europe this summer.

On the day of the bombings, students were in St. Petersburg, Russia. They are currently en route to Gdansk, Poland. The ship will visit Antwerp, Belgium, before docking in London from July 25 to July 29.

“As things stand now, we don’t anticipate any changes to the itinerary,” Paul Watson, Semester at Sea’s director of enrollment management, said.

He added that Semester at Sea would continue to consult a variety of sources — including the U.S. Department of State — to protect the safety of the students.

The University would not comment on the matter.
