The Recording Industry Association of America filed copyright infringement lawsuits against… The Recording Industry Association of America filed copyright infringement lawsuits against 405 students at 18 different colleges Wednesday, including students at Pitt and Carnegie Mellon University.
The RIAA alleges that, all told, the students have distributed 1.5 million files over the Internet. The average number of mp3s shared by each user being sued is more than 2,300, according to the RIAA.
The following list of songs was attached to the RIAA’s complaint at the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. The defendants, labeled Does #1-16, were not identified by name.

If files you shared between Feb. 26 and March 28 match those on any of the Doe lists, you may be a defendant in Case 05-4888. It is possible, however, that more than one person at Pitt was sharing any or all of these lists of songs at the same time. Do not assume that you are being sued.
