The title, “Campus celebrates Coming Out Week” does not work for an article that appeared in… The title, “Campus celebrates Coming Out Week” does not work for an article that appeared in The Pitt News on Oct. 15 because this campus (the student body) is not unified in any way shape or from, from politics to religion to views on homosexuality and abortion. There are supporters of this week, yes, but then there are also many who believe that homosexuality is wrong.
We, of course, are labeled as ignorant and intolerant for believing this. And I understand that our country’s morals are getting worse and worse, but some of us do still believe in God’s Word, and according to his Word, homosexuality is wrong.
It just irks me that The Pitt News prints articles with titles that basically say, “Oh well, everyone believes this,” when that is not the truth of the matter. I’d like to see an article that asks all the pastors and church leaders what the different faiths view on homosexuality is, but then, so many of their views have become skewed as well.
