In a recent letter to the editor (“Rating of candidates needs to be unbiased on both sides”)… In a recent letter to the editor (“Rating of candidates needs to be unbiased on both sides”) in The Pitt News, Adam Flager wrote about the closed-mindedness of the Bush administration and College Republicans. I strongly disagree with this. In fact, the truth is exactly the opposite.
The Democrats are too ignorant and closed-minded to see that Kerry will do more bad than good for the United States. He claims he will raise the minimum wage to $7.00 an hour? Please! That will make unemployment skyrocket! I’m in intro to economics, and I learned that. How can anyone think Kerry’s proposal will help the United States? Oh, I know why — because they are closed-minded.
Healthcare for every American and lower taxes? Again, completely impossible. Healthcare costs money. Kerry is clearly appealing to the uneducated voter who believes everything they hear.
John Kerry has more flip-flops than a beach party. Yet the Democrats will fail to admit to it. Kerry’s plan for the United States is idealistic, and truly unrealistic, yet the Democrats blindly stand behind him. I am getting tired of the Bush-bashing and people who are voting for Kerry just because he isn’t Bush.
George W. Bush has done so much for the United States … but yet again, the Democrats fail to acknowledge it. Here are a few examples: tax cuts for every American; homeownership at a record high; 75 percent of all Al-Qaida leaders captured or killed worldwide; in the past year, economy is up 4.8 percent; 1.9 million new jobs since August 2003; lower unemployment than the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s.
It’s time for the United States, and the Democrats, to open their eyes and face the facts. John Kerry is not the right answer for the United States. He simply has “pie in the sky” ideas that will hurt the economy and appeal to the simple-minded voter. I am confident that the American people will realize this in the next two weeks, and I look forward to seeing President Bush in the White House for 4 more years.
