Instead of writing and publishing books, Allen has managed to capture his fans’ hearts with a Tee Party.
Displaying the inaugural Rattlecat cartoon logo on his fashion T-shirt, Allen merges with vintage-clothing store Hey Betty to create a hip-hop fashion show with a rattling edge.
But the excitement only begins there. Allen, with his unique style, incorporated a voter registration for those of us too lazy to log onto the Internet.
“Everyone has strong opinions,” Allen said. “How can you complain [about the president] if you don’t vote?”
Well, Allen’s latest project isn’t allowing any room for complaining. Viewers of the Tee Party are granted access to a voter registration table provided by www.everyonevote.com, a local non-partisan voter registration project focused on getting young people out to the polls.
A University of Pittsburgh graduate, Allen stresses the importance of students voting.
“I just wanted young people to vote in a different setting. Here [The Rattlecat Tee Party] people can enjoy a fashion show while participating in something they may not ordinarily have time for,” Allen said.
To kick off the festivities, Rattlecat Press will show a short film depicting young people meeting with friends to discuss voter registration. Following the film, models will grace the runway, displaying not only Rattlecat’s fashion Tee collection, but also an assortment of dazzling, trendy styles.
Soaked with rhythmic sounds from DJ John Ep, The Tee Party guarantees it won’t be your ordinary fashion show. And, if watching models strut down the runway doesn’t suit your fancy, snag your own Rattlecat T-shirt and do some modeling of your own.
So go out and not only register for this year’s intense presidential election, but join Rattlecat Press as they celebrate true Rattlecat style.
