4:03 a.m. — A juvenile was arrested for spray-painting a building on Fifth Avenue.

5:33 p.m. — Officers responded to a family dispute in the Biomedical Tower. The incident was cleared at the scene.

Wednesday, July 14

7:28 a.m. — Nonaffiliate Arnell Azeem Sr., of 2001 Groove Place, received a citation for defiant trespass into Parran Hall.

11:13 a.m. — A person reported the theft of cash and checks in the Cathedral of Learning. An investigation is pending.

3:53 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Ian Lange, of 3112 Niagara St., received a citation for public drunkenness near Lawrence Hall.

7:28 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Anthony Thurman, of no fixed address, was arrested for defiant trespass into Crawford Hall.

8:47 p.m. — Police confiscated a bag of marijuana from UPMC guards that had, in turn, been confiscated from a hospital visitor.

10:07 p.m. — Derrick Payne and David Grabowski, both nonaffiliates of no fixed addresses, received citations for open container violations on the corner of Fifth and Oakland avenues.

Friday, July 16

5:16 a.m. — A person reported the theft of a toolbox from Allen Hall. An investigation is pending.

12:18 p.m. — A man reported the theft of his bicycle from the bike rack outside Hillman Library. The incident was cleared at the scene.

4:57 p.m. –Amy Lyon, of 3955 Forbes Ave., received a citation for public drunkenness outside Litchfield Towers.

Saturday, July 17

1:23 a.m. — Jonathan Ferrara, of Bethlehem, Pa., was arrested for disorderly conduct and Barri Shank, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, was arrested for public lewdness near the Law School.

2:10 a.m. — Adam Male was arrested in the lobby of Litchfield Towers for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

2:29 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Angela Lombardo, of Verona, Pa., was arrested at an undisclosed location on an outstanding warrant.

9:08 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Roscoe Young III, of 569 Clarissa St., was cited for disorderly conduct on the 200 block of Oakland Avenue.

Sunday, July 18

2:20 a.m. — Nonaffiliate Christopher Meaner, of 620 Montclair St., was arrested on the 3900 block of Forbes Avenue for driving under the influence.

2:43 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Robert F. Borgo III, of 213 Chesterfield St., was cited for an open container violation at the corner of Forbes Avenue and McKee Place.

1:22 p.m. — A student reported receiving a threatening e-mail. An investigation is pending.

2:21 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Peter Robert Jones, of 6 Enfield St., was arrested on the 3700 block of Forbes Avenue on an outstanding warrant.

4:34 p.m. — An employee reported the theft of construction equipment from a trailer near the Petersen Events Center. An investigation is pending.

9:33 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Raymond Howze, of 141 Robinson Court, received a citation near Parran Hall for an open container violation.

Tuesday, July 20

12:00 a.m. — A person reported being physically harassed on the corner of Forbes Avenue and Bouquet Street. The incident was cleared.

2:24 p.m. — A person reported the theft of a DVD player from the Cathedral of Learning. An investigation is pending.

6:58 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Marion Mays, of 202 Penn Ave., received a citation for public intoxication on the 100 block of Coltart Street.

9:31 p.m. — On the 3700 block of Forbes Avenue, nonaffiliates Ernest Boyd, of 1567 Wesley St., and Ian Thomas Lange, of 3112 Niagara St., received citations for open container violations.

Wednesday, July 21

2:30 a.m. — Officers assisted city police and firefighters responding to a fire on the 100 block of Lytton Avenue. The incident was cleared.

7:32 p.m. — On the corner of Bouquet Street and Fifth Avenue, nonaffiliate Che Harris, of Homestead, Pa., was arrested for disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana.

10:34 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Ryan Bittner, of Hermitage, Pa., was arrested on the 200 block of Oakland Avenue for the possession of an illegal weapon.

Thursday, July 22

11:22 a.m. — Officers assisted city police responding to a reported theft from a vehicle in the Friendship Avenue area.

1:33 p.m. — A woman reported the theft of her wallet from the Ear and Eye Hospital of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

1:57 p.m. — A woman reported the theft of her wallet from the Ear and Eye Hospital of UPMC.

2:38 p.m. — A woman reported the theft of her wallet from the Ear and Eye Hospital of UPMC.

3:28 p.m. — A vehicle reportedly hit an ambulance in a parking lot at UPMC, and then left the scene.

7:32 p.m. — Officers assisted city police responding to a reported robbery on Yarrow Way.

8:53 p.m. — Derrick Payne and Ali Albazonni, both nonaffiliates of no fixed addresses, were cited for open container violations on the corner of Forbes and Oakland avenues.

Friday, July 23

8:52 a.m. — A person reported being harassed in a campus parking lot. An investigation is pending.

6:23 p.m. — On the 3800 block of Forbes Avenue, nonaffiliate Arnell Azeem Sr., of 2001 Groove Place, was arrested on an outstanding warrant and nonaffiliate Ian Lange, of 3112 Niagara Street, received a citation for an open container violation.

6:59 p.m. — Two juveniles riding unlicensed scooters on the 300 block of Bouquet Street were told to take the scooters home.

7:28 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Ian Lange, of 3112 Niagara Street, received a citation near Lawrence Hall for public drunkenness.

9:18 p.m. –Daniel Sterba, of Kane, Pa., was cited for underage drinking on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard.

9:30 p.m. — A Pitt police officer and several city police officers interviewed a person who came to UPMC hospital with a bullet wound.

Saturday, July 24

5:30 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Louis Peterson, of 250 Highland Ave., was arrested for defiant trespass into Posvar Hall.

Sunday, July 25

1:59 a.m. — Student James Hayes, of Export, Pa., received a citation on the 200 block of Bouquet Street for disorderly conduct.

2:35 a.m. — Officers assisted city police in responding to a couch and mattress set on fire on the 400 block of Semple Street.

Tuesday, July 27

2:33 p.m. — A University vehicle at the corner of Bates Street and the Boulevard of the Allies was struck by another vehicle, which fled the scene.

3:36 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Jill Gilette, of 323 Morewood Ave., was arrested for defiant trespass near the Cathedral of Learning.

Wednesday, July 28

2:46 a.m. — Nonaffiliates Timothy McGrath, of 374 Southridge Drive, and Shelby Charnoff, of 324 McKee Place, received citations for disorderly conduct and public intoxication near the Cathedral of Learning.

3:25 p.m. — A man reported the theft of candy from his desk in the MPAC building.

7:43 p.m. — Nonaffiliates Ian Lange, of 3112 Niagara St., and Andrew Price, of 232 Swissvale Ave., were arrested for possession of narcotics in the Litchfield Towers lobby.

11:58 p.m. — An officer assisted city police with the recovery of a stolen car on Gold Way.

9:54 p.m. — A person in Alumni Hall reported receiving threatening mail. An investigation is pending.

12:05 p.m. — A person in Mervis Hall reported receiving a threatening phone call. An investigation is pending.

Friday, July 30

1:46 a.m. — Nonaffiliates Anya Vasilis, of 125 North Dallas Ave., and Brandon McClue, of 3456 Bates St., both received citations for disorderly conduct at the corner of Bouquet and Sennott streets.

2:30 a.m. — Nonaffiliate Tammy Lynn Watson, of 7110 Grand Ave., received a citation on the 300 block of Bouquet Street for an open container.

3:41 p.m. — A woman from the United Kingdom called to report that a student at a Pitt branch campus had posted alarming information on an Internet bulletin board. An investigation is pending.

6:22 p.m. — Nonaffiliate John McGraw, of 369 South Atlantic Ave., received a citation for an open container violation on Mazeroski Field.

7:09 p.m. — A man in Lawrence Hall reported a theft from his briefcase. An investigation is pending.

Saturday, July 31

7:47 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Raymond Yarnell, of 1102 Fifth Ave., received a citation for an open container violation on the 200 block of Atwood Street.

9:55 p.m. — An officer discovered damage done to a vending machine in Trees Hall. The incident was cleared.

10:13 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Derrick Payne, of no fixed address, received a citation for an open container violation on the corner of Forbes and Oakland avenues.

Sunday, Aug. 1

2:28 a.m. — Nonaffiliate Edward Gabrys, of Franklin, Pa., received a citation for disorderly conduct on the corner of Forbes Avenue and Bouquet Street.

12:40 p.m. — A man reported the theft of his spare tire in front of the log cabin on Forbes Avenue.

9:42 a.m. — A woman in the Petersen Events Center reported a theft from her office. An investigation is pending.

Tuesday, Aug. 3

7:11 p.m. — An officer cited a driver on the corner of Forbes and Bellefield avenues for driving with a suspended license. The vehicle was towed.

8:37 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Andrew Price, of 232 Swissvale Ave., was arrested in the parking lot of the Frick Fine Arts Building for carrying drug paraphernalia.

Wednesday, Aug. 4

1:04 a.m. — Officers assisted city police responding a reported robbery on the 3800 block of Dawson Street.

1:23 a.m. — A woman reported the theft of her purse in UPMC. An investigation is pending.

8:25 a.m. — Two handbags were found, discarded in the bushes near the Panther Hollow Parking Lot. A person came by the police station and claimed them.

2:53 p.m. — An officer reported the theft of a crosswalk sign from Bigelow Boulevard.

10:19 p.m. — Derrick Payne and Raymond Yarnell, both nonaffiliates of no fixed addresses, were cited for open container violations near the corner of Forbes and Meyran avenues.

Thursday, Aug. 5

12:26 a.m. — Nonaffiliate Jordan Latimer, of Baldwin, Pa., was arrested for driving under the influence at an undisclosed location.

9:18 a.m. — Nonaffiliate Glen Hoffield, of Homestead, Pa., was arrested for public drunkenness on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Atwood Street.

10:37 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a car on fire in the O’Hara Garage. No one was hurt and the incident was cleared.

2:11 p.m. –A person in Craig Hall reported receiving a threatening phone call. An investigation is pending.

7:59 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Andre Banks, of 352 Melwood St., received a citation for an open container violation on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Bouquet Street.

Friday, Aug. 6

2:08 p.m. — Construction workers at the Biomedical Tower accidentally cut an electrical power line, causing a power outage in some University buildings.

Saturday, Aug. 7

2:08 a.m. — Officers responded to a fight in Bouquet Gardens. Those involved were removed from the building.

12:21 p.m. — Nonaffiliate John C. Pietryka, of Lower Burrell, Pa., received a citation for an open container violation on the 5500 block of Fifth Avenue.

4:57 p.m. — Nonaffiliate William Connomacher, of Cheswick, Pa., was arrested at the corner of Centre Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard on an outstanding warrant.

7:32 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Charles Sekerski, of 314 Burrows St., was arrested at the corner of Sennott and Atwood streets on an outstanding warrant.

Monday, Aug. 9

3:03 a.m. — Nonaffiliate Raub Robinson, of 3033 Springwood St., was arrested at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard for burglary. A juvenile accomplice was also arrested.

4:27 p.m. — Officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a Pitt shuttle bus near the corner of Darragh and Victoria streets. No one was injured.

Tuesday, Aug. 10

6:25 p.m. — A person failed to return a key and tape recorder after touring the Nationality Rooms. An investigation is pending.

Wednesday, Aug. 11

8:51 a.m. — A staff person in the Chevron Science Center reported the theft of a propane gas tank from a grill. The incident was cleared at the scene

3:07 p.m. — A truck backed into the retaining wall of a loading dock in the Chevron Science Center.

10:28 p.m. — A person reported that his apartment on Oakland Avenue had been burglarized. An investigation is pending.

Thursday, Aug. 12

1:23 a.m. — Officers assisted city police with a reported robbery on the corner of Cable Way and Atwood Street.

11:48 a.m. — An employee reported missing building equipment in the Peterson Events Center.

12:00 p.m. — A person reported receiving threatening phone calls in Thackeray Hall. An investigation is pending.

12:51 p.m. — A woman reported the theft of her credit cards in Posvar Hall. An investigation is pending.

3:32 p.m. — Officers in Posvar Hall found three unauthorized juveniles, whom they took to a police station and released to the juveniles’ parents.

6:09 p.m. –Nonaffiliate Ira Perry, of 5601 Penn Ave., was cited for unauthorized vending at the corner of Forbes and Meyran avenues.

6:16 p.m. — An officer on the corner of Forbes Avenue and Schenley Drive cited a driver for driving with a suspended registration. The officer seized the driver’s license plate and had the car towed.

Friday, Aug. 13

8:01 a.m. — Police advised a suspicious person to leave the Medical Arts Building.

2:22 p.m. — Police assisted officers from Carlow College’s police force in searching for a suspect in the Coltart Street area.

Saturday, Aug. 14

5:39 p.m. — A person reported damage to her car in the Old Cemetery Parking Lot. An investigation is pending.

7:35 p.m. — Officers assisted city police responding to an assault that took place near the corner of Fifth and Meyran avenues.

Sunday, Aug. 15

5:00 p.m. — Three juveniles were cited for skateboarding near the Cathedral of Learning.

9:16 p.m. — Officers assisted city police responding to a motor vehicle accident on the corner of Atwood and Sennott streets.

Monday, Aug. 16

9:28 a.m. — A construction worker reported that that the door to a classroom in the Old Engineering Hall had been broken. An investigation is pending.

1:37 p.m. — A staff member in the William Pitt Union reported that an unauthorized person had used her computer after business hours. An investigation is pending.

Tuesday, Aug. 17

9:25 a.m. — A person in the Cathedral of Learning reported receiving a threatening letter.

12:57 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Tab Edward Brown, of 958 Woodlow St., was arrested on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Tennyson Street for receiving stolen property.

3:42 p.m. — Nonaffiliates Stanley Williams, of 521 Landless Place, and Kimberly Lambert, of 2115 Rose St., received citations for open container violations on Mazeroski Field.

6:49 p.m. –John M. Glass and Michael Anthony Toli, both nonaffiliates of no fixed addresses, were issued citations for vending without licenses near the Law School.

6:52 p.m. –An officer recovered an abandoned, stolen vehicle on the 3900 block of Forbes Avenue.

Wednesday, Aug. 18

7:40 a.m. — An officer cited a driver for driving with a suspended registration on Schenley Drive. The driver’s license plate was confiscated and the car was towed.

7:46 a.m. — An officer cited a driver and towed a car that was blocking the parking lot next to the Frick Fine Arts Building.

8:45 a.m. — Pitt staff members reported multiple thefts from offices in the Cathedral of Learning. An investigation is pending.

10:20 a.m. — A vending machine in Allen Hall was reportedly broken into. An investigation is pending.

11:18 a.m. — Officers assisted city police with the arrest of a person for auto theft on Devonshire Street.

5:28 p.m. — An officer accidentally broke a key to Bellefield Hall while locking a door.

7:01 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Derrick Payne, of no fixed address, received a citation for trespassing and an open container violation in a parking lot on Bouquet Street.

Thursday, Aug. 19

9:36 a.m. — A person reported the theft of a computer from the Cathedral of Learning.

Friday, Aug. 20

5:20 p.m. — Officers assisted city police with the arrest of a robbery suspect near the corner of Forbes Avenue and Dithridge Street.

5:39 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Michael Haley, of 5899 Bartlett St., received a citation for an open container violation.

Saturday, Aug. 21

7:18 p.m. — Nonaffiliate Brandon Lee Banks, of 5930 Callow Hill St., was cited for skateboarding at the corner of Forbes Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard.
