Friday, Feb. 27

-8:07 a.m. – Officers cited and towed vehicles on O’Hara parked in a… Friday, Feb. 27

-8:07 a.m. – Officers cited and towed vehicles on O’Hara parked in a posted area.

-11:33 a.m. – Officers assisted city police with a report of a theft from the Carnegie Museum.

-1:38 p.m. – Someone reported a burglary in the Cathedral of Learning. An investigation is pending.

-3:05 p.m. – Police received a report of a suspicious package in Bellefield Towers. The city police checked the package and found it to be harmless.

-4:12 p.m. – Police received a report of arson in L9 Clapp Hall. An investigation is pending.

-4:34 p.m. – Police assisted city police with a reported identity theft at an off-campus location.

-5:32 p.m. – An individual loaned books to a friend and is unable to get them back. Officers advised the individual that this was a civil matter and referred it to the magistrate.

-8:33 p.m. – Burnt food activated a fire alarm in Litchfield Tower A.

-9:50 p.m. – Police received a report of the smell of smoke in Chevron Science Center. Officers and the city fire department checked the building and no source for the smell was found.

-11:06 p.m. – Officers checked two people on Lothrop Street and gave them trespass warnings.

Saturday, Feb. 28

-12:05 a.m. – Police cited Joanna Janson, of Amber, Pa., for underage drinking.

-12:55 a.m. – Police cited Matthew Zajdel, of Johnston, Pa., for possession of marijuana and public drunkenness, at Delta Tau Delta.

-2:51 a.m. – Police cited nonaffiliates Jeffrey Ryan, of Morrisville, Pa., and David L. Ryan, of 263 Robinson St., for public drunkenness at the Petersen Events Center.

-1:01 p.m. – Smoke from a grill activated a fire alarm in the William Pitt Union.

-4:23 p.m. – A person reported being robbed on University Drive near Chevron. An investigation is pending.

-5:24 p.m. – A man reported that his vehicle was damaged by a ball from the baseball field as he was driving on the Robinson Street Extension.

-6:46 p.m. – A female student in the Litchfield Towers reported that an unknown man was harassing her at her room. An investigation is pending.

-7:35 p.m. – Police assisted city police with a reported robbery on Carillo Street.

Sunday, Feb. 29

-12:22 a.m. – Police cited Casey Sutton, of 1622 Litchfield Tower C, for underage drinking.

-1:45 a.m. – Police cited Sean Doerr, of 1405 Litchfield Tower B, and nonaffiliates Mark Giardini, of Downingtown, Pa., and Carl Bennett, of 3710 Saxonburg Blvd., for disorderly conduct in the Towers.

-4:24 a.m. – Police cited Michael Jeske, of 5723 Hobart St., for underage drinking on the 200 block of Meyran Avenue.

-5:02 a.m. – A man knocked on a woman’s Tower C door. The woman didn’t know him. Police checked the floors, stairwells and restrooms with negative results.

-12:07 p.m. – An officer cited and towed vehicles parked in posted areas on O’Hara, Terrace and DeSoto streets.

-3:19 p.m. – A woman reported a theft from her Petersen Events Center locker.

-3:56 p.m. – Someone reported that the house at 256 Oakland Ave. was broken into, but nothing was stolen. An investigation is pending.

-4:22 p.m. – Police removed ticket scalpers from the area around the Petersen Events Center, confiscated the tickets and gave property warnings.

Monday, March 1

-12:33 a.m. – At Forbes Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard police arrested nonaffiliate Paolo L. Bartoletti, of 5714 Lynne Haven Rd., for driving while intoxicated.

-2:32 a.m. – Police received a report that ceiling tiles fell as a result of a water leak in Sennott Square. An engineer was notified.

-5:53 a.m. – Police arrested nonaffiliate Carl Bennett, of 3710 Saxonburg Blvd., for false information to law enforcement and defiant trespass at Allen Hall.

-6:31 a.m. – Employees at the Einstein Bros. Bagel shop in Posvar Hall reported the theft of a table from the loading dock.

-11:14 a.m. – A person in Lothrop Hall reported receiving annoying phone calls beginning on Friday, Feb. 27.

-2:58 p.m. – A person in McCormick Hall reported receiving frequent annoying phone calls.

-3:36 p.m. – A person who resides at an off-campus location reported being harassed over Pitt’s e-mail system. An investigation is pending.

-4:08 p.m. – Police arrested nonaffiliate George F. Davis, of 3316 Ward St., for theft at the demolition site at the corner of Craig Street and Fifth Avenue.

-5:22 p.m. – A person in Posvar Hall reported the theft of equipment. An investigation is pending.

Tuesday, March 2

-10:19 a.m. – A man in Hillman Library reported the theft of his student ID.

-10:55 a.m. – An officer assisted city police with a theft from a vehicle report at an off-campus location. An investigation is pending.

-1:20 p.m. – Officers assisted city police with searching Semple Street for a person involved in a burglary. A suspect was taken into custody by the city police.

-3:05 p.m. – A man reported that two textbooks were taken from his Forbes Craig apartment.

-6:49 p.m. – A woman reported that her wallet was stolen on Friday, Feb. 28.

-9:29 p.m. – A person in Hillman Library reported losing two zip disks.
