Players are suspended

Several players on the St. John’s University’s basketball team are being accused of sexually… Several players on the St. John’s University’s basketball team are being accused of sexually assaulting a 38-year-old woman.

The players met the woman at an adult nightclub in McKees Rocks on Wednesday night, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s online edition.

The St. John’s team, which played Pitt earlier in the night and lost 71-51, wasn’t scheduled to fly back to New York until Thursday. The team was staying at the Westin Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh, where the players reportedly took the woman after meeting her.

The city police had no comment on the situation.

Pitt basketball head coach Jamie Dixon said, “I don’t know enough to comment on the situation.”

Dixon was also quick to point out that he always keeps a close watch on his team on the road, but that a coach can’t control everything.
