For any studying you need to do, Pitt has at least a library or two

Duh. That’s the sound your brain makes before that big exam.

Clip, Clop. Clip, Clop…. Duh. That’s the sound your brain makes before that big exam.

Clip, Clop. Clip, Clop. That’s the sound your clogs make as you leave the dorms.

Flip, Flip, Flip, Flip. That’s the sound the pages make as you invigorate your mind in one of Pitt’s 16 libraries.

To help navigate, here’s a little ditty on some of the more popular ones.

For libraries, Hillman’s the best place to go,

With 1.5 million volumes at Forbes and Bigelow.

With the Cup and Chaucer for caffeine insanity,

It’s mainly for social sciences and the humanities.

But not all students find those fields endearing,

Such as the faculty and students of Pitt engineering.

So there’s Bevier Library in Benedum Hall.

With almost 65,000 books for y’all.

For those with their heads in beakers or stars,

126 Benedum Hall has the goods on inertia and Mars.

There, astronauts and physicists will find

More than 41,000 books to expand the mind.

If those sciences aren’t quite your way,

200 Eberly Hall’s where you need to stay.

Chemistry and computer sciences students go yon

To get the books they need to study on.

Of course binomials, square roots and quadratic equations

Just might be your sort of persuasion.

So check out the Mathematics Library in Thackeray Hall ?

They have 25,000 books in all.

Biology students and neuroscience majors,

Psychology students and life sciences majors,

Can go to Langley Hall and stroll around,

With 70,000 books there to be found.

For history of art and architecture kids,

Frick Fine Arts Library takes your bids.

But you can’t check out any of the books,

Those 85,000 volumes are just there for looks.

Do, re, mi, fa and so,

Don’t forget la, ti and do.

The Music Library holds all eight,

So you and Mozart can celebrate.

Looking for a place where no one will find you?

Darlington Memorial Library will definitely hide you.

At 601 in the Cathedral of Learning,

It’s a location many are still discerning.

Whew. If that doesn’t get your intellect working, then ask a librarian. They’re always lurking.
