Many comedians had to struggle through open mic acts at dingy clubs before they got their foot in the door and made it big.
Bob Marley has spent his fair share on the open mic circuit. In fact, like most comedians, Marley got his start participating in open mic nights at various comedy and hole-in-the-wall clubs until becoming a regular at the Comedy Connection clubs in Boston and Portland.
Opening for acts like Rosie O’Donnell and Richard Lewis only one year into his professional career as a comedian, Marley already had his foot in the door that so many comedians struggle to reach. Now, Marley has enjoyed feature appearances in television, film, national magazines and more, and was recently named one of the “Ten Comics to Watch” by the magazine Variety International Entertainment Weekly.
Marley has worked to find his signature comedic style, mixing a blend of biographical humor with honest perspectives on his home state. He finds underlying comedy in everyday life.
Marley will be performing at the Improv this Thursday thru Sunday, where you can catch him ribbing his aging parents and discussing the trials of being a father and husband.
