– City fire officers responded to a fire drill in Amos Hall at 9:13 a.m. because an engineer called in the wrong react number.
– A manager at The Book Center reported at 1:01 p.m. that a known person was changing the price tags on merchandise.
– At 4:40 p.m., an instructor in the Cathedral of Learning reported having an encounter with a student that she perceived as threatening. An investigation is currently pending.
– Police responded to fire alarm activation at the Zau Beta Tau fraternity house at 6:57 p.m. The alarm was set off by a can of spray paint being used in the building. The incident has since been cleared.
Friday, April 4
– At 1:01 a.m., police cited student Stephanie L. Egger, 19, of 217 West Sutherland Hall, for underage drinking.
– Police in Bouquet Gardens issued citations for underage drinking at 1:18 a.m. to Katie Marie Davis, 19, of Greenville, Pa; Brenda Lynn Liszka, 19, of Greenville, Pa.; and Sarah Catherine Helminiak, 20, of Williamsport, Pa.
– At 1:36 a.m., police in Bouquet Gardens arrested nonstudent Pedro Alexie Ugarte of Reading, Pa., for defiant trespass.
– An officer at the 300 block of Oakland Avenue was speaking with an underage drinker at 1:55 a.m. who provided the officer with identification and then fled.
– At 2:33 a.m., police received reports that someone had forced the windows of a building off their hinges and fled. Property management was notified. No location was provided.
– Police issued a citation for underage drinking at 3:57 a.m. to Anne M. Halkias, 19, of 824 East Sutherland Hall.
– At 4:21 a.m., Children’s Hospital police officers reported that someone in Lothrop Hall was throwing objects from their windows.
– Police assisted with the transportation of someone at the School of Law patio to an area hospital at 6:16 a.m.
– Nonstudents Peter R. Jones, of 6 Enfield St., and Roscoe Young, of 818 Clarissa St., were cited for defiant trespass at the Cathedral at 7:44 a.m.
– At 1:27 p.m., police stood on duty during a protest at the Thomas Merton Center.
– At 1:34 p.m., police stood on duty during a demonstration for the Service Employee’s International Union.
Saturday, April 5
– At 1:04 a.m., a city police officer found a Pitt student in a parking garage at 629 Smithfield St. who had possibly overdosed on an unknown substance. The officer said that the student was being transported to Mercy Hospital.
– Police in Bouquet Garden issued citations for underage drinking to Jonathan Miles Finger, 19, of 101 North Dithridge St., and Peter John Berlin, 20, of Columbia, Md., at 1:21 a.m.
– At 2:22 a.m., police in Litchfield Tower A issued citations for underage drinking to Ashley Weir, 18, of 1702 Tower A, and Kenneth Kluczink of 405 McCormick Hall.
– Nonstudent Joshua David Hollobaugh, of Worthington, Pa., was arrested for drunk driving at Forbes Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard at 2:28 a.m.
– A chemical spill was reported in the Biomedical Science Tower at 6:50 p.m. Montefiore security notified the Hazmat team, which cleaned up the spill.
– Police in Tower A issued two citations for underage drinking at 11:29 p.m., one to Robert Schwartz, 18, of 315 Tower A, and another to a juvenile whose name is unknown.
– Police cited four nonstudents for public drunkenness and other related offenses in the Panther Hollow lot at 11:36 p.m. Kenneth F. Daniel of Pittsburgh and Joshua Godlick of Ardmore, Pa., both 18, were cited, along with Brian Frezza, 20, of Yardley, Pa., and Melissa Eliot, 19, of Plainview, N.Y.
