Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, get ready for something exhilarating, something that is so incredible and so uncomfortably intriguing that you have to see with your own eyes.
Coming to DVD April 22 is a puppet show that isn’t quite like the ones your mom used to take you to. This puppet show doesn’t use a typical puppet, and there are no socks used except for the ones on puppeteers Simon Morley and David Friends’ feet.
These puppets are completely natural and they don’t hang from strings in the hands of the puppeteer, but instead they hang from an area of the puppeteers themselves, and are contorted in the hands of the puppeteers.
If you haven’t figured it out by now, these puppets are actually the genitalia of two Aussies who aren’t ashamed of what the good Lord gave them. “Puppetry of the Penis” has been a huge hit in comedy festivals worldwide, from Australia to Canada and even in England. And now these lads from down under have invaded the States and have been a huge hit.
They have appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” have been mentioned in a scene of “Will and Grace” and were featured on the E! Networks’ “Anna Nicole Smith Show.” The puppet show has received rave reviews from critics and audiences across the globe.
The DVD is a live look at the show in an up close and personal affair. Some of the tricks they perform with their members include the infamous “Hamburger,” the “Loch Ness Monster” and the “Eiffel Tower.” The DVD also includes a one-hour featurette about the puppeteers and their art as well as a multi-page do-it-yourself instruction book, for those who wish to take matters into their own hands.
I know what you’re thinking, and yes, they really make their penises look like these recognizable things as well as a number of other things that one would never have thought of forming their privates into.
The show is in no way erotic and they make that clear from the beginning as they warn the audience that, “This show contains full frontal male nudity and foreign accents.” The one-hour show is awkwardly hilarious and is guaranteed to make you laugh no matter your comfort level with the male penis.
