A water main break was reported in Room 2417 of the Cathedral… Tuesday, March 11

A water main break was reported in Room 2417 of the Cathedral of Learning at 8:19 a.m. The water was shut off and the area was inspected and cleaned up.

In Chevron Science Center at 9:56 a.m., officers responded to a student who received a burn in the lab. The student was transported to UPMC Presbyterian.

Police received a report at 10:46 a.m. that a man was down with a possible drug overdose on the 3800 block of O’Hara Street. Paramedics transported him to Presbyterian.

Nonstudent Tyrone C. Mickens, of 2535 Penn Ave., was arrested for simple assault at 2:37 p.m. on 4612 Centre Ave. He was transported to Allegheny County Jail.

A man reported at 3:16 p.m. in Posvar Hall that he cut his eye while in a weight room. He was treated at Presbyterian.

Dumbbells were reported stolen in Posvar Hall at 4:15 p.m.

Officers observed two men under the trees near Falk School at 8:35 p.m. The officers checked on the men and sent them on their way.

Pitt police assisted the city police with a report of a motor vehicle accident at Bigelow Boulevard and Parkman Avenue that involved a pedestrian. The victim was transported to Presbyterian for treatment.

Wednesday, March 19

Pitt police received a report at 9:58 a.m. of a woman being threatened on a Port Authority Transit by a man she knows. Police assisted PAT police with the arrest.

A guard in Center Plaza Apartments reported that several IDs were left on her desk at 7 p.m.

A man reported that he was stuck in the Forbes Hall Pavilion elevator car 1 on the sixth floor at 7:08 p.m. He was released from the elevator without incident.

A guard in Litchfield Towers Lobby reported at 8:14 p.m. that someone turned in two cell phones.

Nonstudent Michael Arrigo, of 4908 Havanna Drive, turned himself over to Pitt police at the station at 10:18 p.m. He was wanted for indecent assault.

Two people were reported stuck in the Forbes Hall Pavilion elevator car 1 on the sixth floor at 11:49 p.m. They were released without incident.

Thursday, March 20

At 1:35 p.m., Michael Daniel Hellein, of Boulder, Colo., was arrested for aggravated assault of a police officer. No location was given.

Friday, March 21

A custodian at Chevron reported at 12:42 a.m. that he watched someone wheel out a chair with books stacked on it on Wednesday evening.

•At 1:27 a.m., Paul Samuel Matthews, of Murrysville, Pa., was arrested for disorderly conduct. No location was given.

At 12:03 p.m., a lunch box was removed from the steps of an unknown building and placed in recovered property.

Nonstudent Deena E. Varner, of Charleroi, Pa., was arrested for identity theft and forgery at 1:32 p.m. No location was given.

A drill was reported stolen from Chevron at 1:43 p.m.

At the Petersen Events Center at 7:59 p.m., nonstudent Luke P. Williams, of 1308 Parklane Ave., was arrested for defiant trespass.

Saturday, March 22

A guard from Bouquet Gardens reported at 12:35 p.m. that a vehicle parked in front of the building may be leaking fuel. An officer said the car had already leaked approximately four gallons and was still leaking. Pittsburgh fire department responded to the scene and the owner came and removed the vehicle.

There was a flood on the third floor of the Gold Building at 10:10 a.m. Minor damage was reported.

In 318 Oakland Avenue Apartments at 2:34 p.m., a woman reported that her boyfriend left with her cell phone following an argument they had. The boyfriend was located and the cell phone was returned.

Sunday, March 23

Pitt police received a report at 10:36 a.m. that someone opened a casket in Alumni Hall. The casket was being used for a play and was stuck in an open position after being opened.

A man in the Old Cemetery Lot reported at 5:16 p.m. that his vehicle had been egged the night before.

Pitt police confiscated a small amount of marijuana and a pipe from someone in Tower C at 11:17 p.m.
