The straightforward, loud mouth, tell-you-like-it-is-and-like-it-isn’t Henry Rollins, who for some reason or another is almost always pissed off – or maybe it just seems that way – brings his point of view to Rock Jungle tonight.
The man who is more controversial at times than the Clinton scandal and ranks right up there with the one and only Andrew Dice Clay, brings his arsenal of rants to Pittsburgh, ready to lay down his opinions on everything going on and going wrong in society. His spoken word tours are inspirational to some, controversial to most, but for everyone they provide entertainment worth the price of the ticket.
Rollins is a multi-talented man, between being a punk rocker with Black Flag from 1981 to 1986 and a hard rocker with his own Rollins Band who have been playing together since 1988, to making appearances in several movies, starting in 1993 with the Charlie Sheen flick “The Chase.” Some notable films that Rollins has been a part of include “Heat,” “Lost Highway,” and “The New Guy.”
Rollins has also written several books, his most recent being “Smile, You’re Traveling” and “Unwelcomed Songs: Collected Lyrics 1980-1992,” a book of lyrics Rollins has written through the years – all of his blood, sweat and tears poured onto paper for all to see.
His spoken word tours have been recorded onto CDs and onto video and have been Rollins’ trademark for the past few years. Not holding anything back, Rollins makes it certain that anyone faint of heart might want to sit out of this one. But for those interested in what one man has to say, this will be worth it for sure.
