Cheap shows are great, especially when the show is headlined by a young band that rocks. Formed in St. Charles, Mo., in 1998, Greenwheel knows how to rock. Their live shows are filled with energy, excitement and a sound that is filled with loud guitars and a driving rhythm section, with a similar sound to Matchbox Twenty. Greenwheel throws their music into your face and makes you feel it.
Their debut album, Soma Holiday, is filled with great rock songs from the first track to the last. The video for their first single, “Breath,” is being mixed into the rotation on MTV2, and Greenwheel was also featured on the soundtracks to “Spider-Man” and “The Fast and the Furious.” And it was being on these soundtracks that helped them gather a following, but Greenwheel is still a band you may have heard about from a friend, without ever hearing any of their music.
Also on the bill is Revis, a quintet formerly known as Orco. Another young band – all the members are between the ages of 19 and 22 – Revis recorded their first album in the summer of 2002 and found themselves struggling with very little cash along the way. Learning the hard way that the start of a new project may place a toll on a band, they got through the recording process and are now on tour promoting the album, which is set for release this spring.
With an intense stage presence, Greenwheel looks to satisfy at Hard Rock Cafe, and for the price of the show, you won’t be disappointed. With two young bands on the stage filled with energy and enthusiasm, this show plans to rock.
