Girls will return your calls. They don’t want you to spend money on them. They won’t stand you up. And most importantly, they will have sex with you without even dating you! Why? Because you are a man of CCR.
Not a fan of Credence Clearwater Revival – in “Make Every Girl Want You,” CCR stands for compliments, compassion and reassurance. The underlying lesson here is that if you kiss up to a girl, make her think that you are genuinely interested in her problems and reassure her that she is great, she will throw her arms around your neck and plant a nice wet one on you – and then some.
There are tips on making a network of girl friends: meeting them, inviting them to a group activity, inviting them out with just you – all while following the rules of CCR. John Fate and Steve Reil say that after you build trust, you can invite your girl “friend” on a weekend trip alone with you, and without any effort on your part she will be happy to get down and dirty with you. But don’t do this before you meet some of her friends, because you might want to sleep with one of them instead, and if you sleep with her first, your chances are ruined.
The authors actually say that if a man follows CCR’s tactics, then he will be able to sleep with a woman without paying for her dinner or opening doors for her. Sorry, guys, but no matter how much you compliment us and show us compassion and reassurance, if you make us pay for dinner, odds aren’t in your favor that night.
Strip away the motives, though, and the book does make sense. It stresses telling the truth so as not so hurt the object of your affection and throwing away the time limits between phone calls. These are good things to keep in mind when it comes to the opposite sex.
With the help of diagrams and sample dialogues, guys on campus shouldn’t have a hard time finding a girl to sleep with after a frat party or even after a study session at the library. Unless of course, the girl sees right through you – and, hopefully, most college women will.
