‘Cheap’ walks across the street and rediscovers fun at CMA

While I do recommend being as prepared as possible for test after test, I can’t tell you how much we all deserve a break from the books.

Come on, put the pencils and pens down, throw up an away message and walk over to the Carnegie Museum of Art to see some holiday exhibits.

Free with your Pitt ID as usual, once inside the museum you will feast your eyes on a variety of Christmas trees. Five 20-foot Christmas trees have been decorated with ornaments handmade by the Women’s Committee of the Carnegie Museum of Art and pay homage to Andy Warhol, Stuart Davis, Keith Haring, Alexander Calder and Georgia O’Keeffe.

But that isn’t the end of the holiday cheer. There are also 13 artificial trees decorated by local celebrities such as Mr. Rogers, Elin and Jim Roddey, and members of Rusted Root. If you have some spare change, a donation of $10 will get you a raffle ticket and a chance to win one of these beautiful decorations.

If you have had enough of the holidays before they’ve even officially begun, no problem. There are plenty of other interesting and exciting things to see at the Carnegie. And just think, only a few more days until the semester is behind us and you get to go home and sponge off mom and dad.

See you in a few weeks.
