ADD Fest 5
Tonight, 7 p.m.
Mr. Roboto Project, $5
722 Wood St., Wilkinsburg
All ages
If you can’t endure yet another night waiting around for a band or two to set up and toy with their instruments, finally starting a half hour later than they were supposed to, then playing way too long before finally getting to the point, head east to see Roboto’s ADD Fest.
Ten local bands of the punk rock persuasion will perform 10-minute long sets each, in order to appease those with short attention spans – after all, ADD stands for Attention Deficit Disorder. This year’s ADD fest marks the Mr. Roboto Project’s fifth year as one of Pittsburgh’s only all-age music venues. Roboto has become a staple here in Pittsburgh in recent years, showcasing both local and independent musicians from across the country.
The superb lineup features girl rockers Corpus Christie, noisemakers Free Barabas, one-man electronic music experiment Girl Talk and local frantic punk legends Crucial Unit. And where else will you be able to witness a band called Pittsburgh Symphony (of Destruction)?
Even if this type of show isn’t exactly up your alley, consider seeing it just for the sheer chaotic novelty and occasional surprises that will no doubt ensue. Enough prattling already, go see ADD fest.
