In Bouquet Gardens at 9:06 a.m., a guard reported criminal mischief in two of the buildings. Property management was notified to repair the areas. An investigation is pending.
Engineers in Crawford Hall set off the fire alarm at 8:37 p.m. because of a fire in Room 570. The Pittsburgh fire department and hazardous materials units responded to the fire. Malfunctioning experimental equipment caused the fire.
Nonstudent Justin Michael Kalich, of Youngswood, Pa., was arrested for drunk driving at 11:04 p.m. No location was given.
In Litchfield Tower A at 11:53 p.m., Pitt police checked on the well-being of a student. Officers contacted the student and found no problems. The resident director was notified.
Wednesday, Oct. 30
Pitt police responded to a report at 2:37 a.m. that a woman in Sutherland Hall was unresponsive but breathing and warm to the touch. Paramedics transported the woman to UPMC Presbyterian.
In Salk Hall at 7:33 a.m., Pitt police checked on a report of a suspicious person in the building. The building was checked, but no one was found.
At 5:10 p.m., Pitt police assisted city police with a report that an 81-year-old man was missing from Presbyterian.
In Tower C at 6:35 p.m., paramedics responded to a woman who fell and sustained a knee injury. The woman was transported to Presbyterian for treatment.
At 7:36 p.m., paramedics responded to a University employee on Bigelow Boulevard who injured his back. He was transported to UPMC South Side for treatment.
In Trees Hall at 8:32 p.m., a man reported that his Pitt ID, keys, money and clothing had been stolen.
Thursday, Oct. 31
There was a hazardous condition in the Biomedical Science Tower at 8:05 a.m. UPMC Bio-safety responded to the incident.
A custodian found a Minnesota license plate in the parking lot at Posvar Hall at 8:23 a.m. The plate entered as recovered property.
In the William Pitt Union at 8:40 a.m., someone had written on Pitt property with chalk. The chalk was removed.
A guard in McCormick Hall reported receiving obscene phone calls at 4:16 p.m. An investigation is pending.
Friday, Nov. 1
Nonstudent Favian David Xavier, of 7201 Meade St., was arrested for disorderly conduct at 1:03 a.m. No location was given.
At 1:31 a.m., Allison Leigh Pretz, of 375 Avon Drive, was cited for disorderly conduct. No location was given.
Isaac Slyder, of Emporium, Pa., was arrested for disorderly conduct at 2:02 a.m. No location was given.
In Brackenridge Hall at 2:21 a.m., Jillian Sharkey, 19, of Room 409 Brackenridge Hall, was cited for underage drinking.
Someone reported at 3:53 p.m. that money was taken from student organization funds between January 2002 and September 2002 in the Union. An investigation is pending.
Brian Patrick Flannery, 19, of Wyomissing, Pa., was cited for underage drinking at 11:50 p.m. No location was given.

In Presbyterian at 1:32 p.m., a blackjack was confiscated from one of the patients. The item was placed in the property room.
Sunday, Nov. 3
Patrick R. Murzynski, 18, of 601 Tower A, was cited for underage drinking at 2:36 a.m. in Tower A.
In the Cathedral of Learning at 6:18 a.m., Anthony Foster, of 115 N. Aiken Ave., was cited for defiant trespass.
Pitt police received a report of a 20-year-old man who twisted his knee and heard it snap in the Cost sports center at 8:21 p.m. He was transported to Presbyterian.

In Holland Hall at 4:26 a.m., officers checked on the well-being of a person. The person was transported to Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic.
Someone received a call stating there was a bomb in the Information Sciences building at 2:38 p.m. Pitt police completed a full search of the building and found nothing.
