After defeating the defending champion Clarion last weekend, the team is ready to go into the finals against Franciscan University. Pitt already defeated Franciscan 33-17 in a game earlier this year and is hoping for another win this weekend.
This is the team’s first experience in a championship game. It came in second place twice in the past three years. The “A” team has gone undefeated this year, and the “B” team has been undefeated for the past two years.
“It’s definitely the strongest team we’ve had,” head coach Dan Talbert said. “We got a bunch of seniors on the team in key positions and a lot of the underclassmen are the spark of the team.”
The team will face Franciscan tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Boyce Park in Monroeville.
