At 2:08 p.m., Pitt police assisted Pittsburgh police with a report of an indecent assault. The incident occurred off campus. City police will investigate.
Pitt police assisted city police with a report of armed robbery that occurred off campus at 3:57 p.m. City police will investigate.
Pitt policed responded to a report at 6:10 p.m. that a strange smell was coming from a room in Benedum Hall. The incident was contained. The University Health and Safety department will investigate.
At 10:52 p.m., the Pitt police recovered an art statue. No location was given. The item was placed in the property room.
Tuesday, Oct. 8
A man reported at 4:32 p.m. that someone accessed his checking account without authorization and deposited a check into the account.
Police responded to a report by a man who said that his bike had been stolen from the bike rack near the Cathedral of Learning at 5:15 p.m.
At 8:34 p.m., an officer reported using a fire extinguisher to put out a small trash can fire outside of Litchfield Towers.
In Holland Hall at 9:12 p.m., someone reported that the smell of marijuana was coming from one of the rooms. Officers assisted the resident director, who stated that she would handle the matter.
A guard turned in a calculator that was found in the Petersen Events Center recreation room at 11:07 p.m. The item was entered as recovered property.
At 11:57 p.m., someone requested that officers check on the well-being of a woman she knows who threatened to harm herself. Officers transported the woman to the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic for evaluation and involuntary commitment without incident.
Wednesday, Oct. 9
Officers assisted a resident director in the investigation of a reported smell of marijuana coming from one of the rooms at 1:22 a.m. in Holland Hall. The resident director searched the room and found a bag containing a small amount of marijuana. The resident director turned the marijuana over to the officer and advised that they would file judicial board papers on the room occupants. The officer entered the marijuana as evidence.
At 12:35 p.m., a man reported that money was withdrawn form his checking account by an unknown actor through the Automated Teller Machine.
A woman in Ruskin Hall reported that her ex-boyfriend assaulted her by choking and pushing her at 1:55 p.m.
In Mervis Hall at 3:42 p.m., a man reported that he received a suspicious substance in a mailing from a publisher.
There was an elevator entrapment between the 5th and 6th floor in Sutherland Hall at 10:55 p.m. The engineer was not able to get the individuals off the elevator. Otis, the manufacturer of the elevator, had an engineer on the scene at 11:50 p.m. and the individuals were left off the elevator by 11:55 p.m.
At 6:28 a.m., the Pitt police assisted city police with a report of a robbery at Burger King. The area was searched for a suspect, but none was found. City police will investigate.
Thursday, Oct. 10
In the Pete at 11:28 a.m., the Pitt police assisted city police with a report of a robbery on Polish Hill. The victim’s driver’s license was found near Scaife Hall and turned into UPMC Presbyterian Hospital security. An investigation is pending.
An unknown person wrote that they are the East End rapist on a chalkboard in Bellefield Towers at 3:45 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 11
Korey M. McCluskey, 18, of 342 Lothrop Hall, was cited for underage drinking at 12:14 a.m. No location was provided.
Officers cited Jesse Fischer, 19, of Zeta Beta Tau; Jason Yampolsky, 19, of 510 Lothrop Hall; Gregory Stalfa, of 917 Sutherland West; and Matthew Rusincovitch, 19, of 724 Sutherland East’ for underage drinking at Zeta Beta Tau at 12:19 a.m.
Adam Edinburg, of 310 Tower A, was cited for underage drinking in Tower A at 12:23 a.m. No date of birth was given.
At Delta Tau Delta at 12:59 a.m., Alyssa Burkhart and Tracey J. Smith, both 18 and of Holland Hall, were cited for underage drinking.
