At 1:36 p.m., in the Benedum Hall parking lot, police responded to a call that a student had an injured hip. Paramedics transported the student to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Tuesday, Sept. 17

Police responded to a complaint of damaged locks on a door in the Cathedral of Learning men’s room at 1:48 p.m.

An officer responded to a call at 4:03 p.m. that a dog was loose in a stairwell of the Tower View Garage. The officer notified Animal Control who removed the dog without incident.

Wednesday, Sept. 18

A small chemical spill set off a fire alarm sensor in the Life Science Building at 9:41 a.m. The city fire dept. evacuated the building and cleared the fumes before allowing students and faculty to re-enter.

Paramedics responded to a call at 12:06 p.m. that someone in Bellefield Towers was having a seizure. The person refused medical treatment.

At 5:57 p.m., an officer and a resident assistant searched a Sutherland Hall room after receiving a complaint of the resident having marijuana in his room. The resident assistant found a box containing suspected marijuana seeds and stems in the room. He will file Judicial Board papers.

An officer assisted city police with an automobile accident involving a pedestrian on Bigelow Boulevard near the William Pitt Union at 8:01 p.m. Paramedics transported the victim to Presbyterian.

Thursday, Sept. 19

At noon, an officer assisted city police with a motor vehicle accident involving a student at Fifth and Tennyson avenues. Paramedics transported the student to Presbyterian.

An officer assisted North Strabane Township police in locating a vehicle they were looking for at 5:46 p.m. at Bouquet Gardens.

Friday, Sept. 20

At 12:15 a.m., police cited 18-year-old Anthony Joseph Massaro, of Litchfield Tower B, for underage drinking.

Michael Matthew Gessner, of Elkins Park, Pa., was cited for an open container violation at 12:19 a.m. at Bouquet Gardens.

At 12:45 a.m., police cited 18-year-old Aymel Mohammed, of Tower A, for underage drinking.

Police cited 18-year-old Phillip A. Luckman, of Brackenridge Hall, for disorderly conduct at 2:04 a.m.

Officers responded to a call at 4:57 p.m. of a woman acting in a suspicious manner near Alumni Hall. Police transported the woman to Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic where she was admitted on an involuntary commitment.

Officers received a call at 11:16 p.m. that yogurt was stolen from someone’s lunch bag while it was in the refrigerator in the third floor lounge of Posvar Hall.

Saturday, Sept. 21

At 12:15 a.m., in Tower B, 18-year-old Anthony Joseph Massaro, of 1213 Tower B, was cited for underage drinking.

Police responded to a call at 12:29 a.m. in Bouquet Gardens that an unknown person was knocking on a student’s door. Police located the people knocking and advised them that they were not permitted on University property since they were not Pitt students. They left without incident.

A juvenile female student was cited for underage drinking on Forbes Avenue at 3:32 a.m. Officers transported the student to her room and notified the resident director and the girl’s parents of the incident.

At 10:13 a.m., a man reported that someone broke the passenger side window of his vehicle and took the CD player from dashboard. The vehicle was parked in the Old Cemetery Lot.

Police responded to a call at 7:10 p.m., that someone broke into a man’s vehicle while it was parked in the OC Lot and removed his stereo from inside.

A man reported at 7:37 p.m. that someone broke into his vehicle while it was parked in the OC Lot by breaking the driver’s side window. The stereo was stolen from inside of the vehicle.

Police received a report at 7:48 p.m. that juveniles were playing on the baseball field. An officer checked the area and did not see them.

At 11:45 p.m., in the William Pitt Union, Graham Couturier, of 3456 Bates St., was cited for public drunkenness.

Anthony Bugno, of 215 Tower B, was cited for disorderly conduct at Mazeroski Field at 11:58 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 22

At 1:23 a.m., police cited nonstudent Michael Ryan Willis, 20, of Oscela Mills, Pa., with underage drinking in Towers Lobby.

At 5:05 a.m., in the Center Plaza Apartments, Avanti N. Johnson, of 409 Center Plaza Apartments, was cited for underage drinking. No age was given for Johnson.

Police responded to a report that there was the smell of marijuana coming from one of the rooms in Tower C at 9:36 p.m. The resident director told officers that a student admitted to smoking marijuana in his room. The officer confiscated the drug paraphernalia from the student and entered it as evidence and the resident director stated that she would file Judicial Board papers on the person involved.

Two women reported at 11:28 p.m. that an unknown person sexually assaulted them at gunpoint as they were walking up University Drive.

Monday, Sept. 23

At 5 a.m., an officer reported the street lights are out on University Drive because of a building demolition in the area.

Wednesday, Sept. 25

Officers responded to a 12:02 p.m. complaint that a man in the Schenley Quadrangle was exposing himself. They located him near Soldiers’ and Sailors’ and obtained his identification.

A student reported at 1:11 p.m. that she received a harassing instant message on her off-campus computer. The incident was reported to her local police department, which will conduct an investigation.

Thursday, Sept. 26

C. Amy Cline, 20, of 262 N. Dithridge St., Apartment 404, was cited for underage drinking on North Dithridge Street at 3:53 a.m.

Friday, Sept. 27

A man turned in a purse that he found in a Scaife Hall men’s restroom at 9:12 a.m.

At 9:19 a.m., a man in Salk Hall reported that he received several threatening messages on his voice mail.

Someone reported a chemical spill on the 11th floor of Chevron Science Center at 1:56 p.m. The building was evacuated and the spill was cleaned up.

The anesthesiology department of the dental school reported a wheelchair stolen at 2:57 p.m.

A woman reported at 4:39 p.m. that a man was video taping her from his vehicle while she was walking on Bigelow Boulevard.

Officers apprehended Aaron Gaglia, 20, of 225 Clearview Ave., for spray painting a building on North Craig Street at 10:10 p.m. He was then arrested for underage drinking, criminal mischief and public drunkenness.

Police responded to a report at 10:46 p.m. that an unknown person had broken into a woman’s car while it was parked in the OC Lot.

Saturday, Sept. 28

Mitchell R. Redcay, 20, of 3450 Bates St., was cited for underage drinking at Sigma Phi Epsilon at 1:04 a.m.

Student Government Board member Bryan Thomas II, 20, was cited for underage drinking in Room 202 of Sutherland Hall at 1:48 a.m.

Police in Towers issued a citation for underage drinking at 2:58 a.m. to Randall Hoffman, 18, of 403 Tower A.

At 3:32 a.m., officers issued citations for criminal mischief to two nonstudent juveniles for breaking windows at Stuckert’s Garage in Centre Avenue. The officer took the juveniles home and notified their parents of the incident.

A man walking on Oakland Avenue reported at 5:29 a.m. that he had been assaulted. Medics transported him to Presbyterian.

At 8:30 a.m., an officer issued citation to vehicle parked in violation on Bigelow Boulevard. The vehicles were towed to Stuckert’s.

A woman in the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ parking garage reported at 9:55 a.m. that someone broke into her vehicle and attempted to steal it while it was parked in the lot. An investigation is currently pending.

Someone in Posvar Hall turned in CDs that were found at 1:07 p.m. The CDs were entered as recovered property.

At 3:47 p.m., Someone reported the theft of a bracelet. An investigation is currently pending.

A woman in the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ parking garage reported at 4:51 p.m. that an unknown person broke into her vehicle as it was parked in the lot overnight. An investigation is currently pending.

Someone at the Law School reported at 6:52 p.m. that someone was having a seizure. Medics treated the patient at the scene.

At 11:26 p.m., officers at Oakland Avenue and Sennott Street issued a citation for underage drinking to Kevin Webb, 20, of 311 Oakland Ave, Apartment 1.

Sunday, Sept. 29

An officer reported at 12:44 a.m. the confiscation of a license plate that was inside a vehicle stopped on Louisa Street. The driver was issued a traffic citation for driving under suspension and Stuckert’s towed the vehicle. The registration plate was entered as recovered property.

At 12:58 a.m., police at Phi Kappa Theta issued a citation for underage drinking to Gregory Zajackowski, 19, of 212-2 Tower A.

Police at Phi Kappa Theta issued a citation for underage drinking at 1:06 p.m. to Jamil Afza, 19, of 808 Brackenridge Hall.

Someone at Phi Kappa Theta reported at 2:32 p.m. being harassed by another person. The mattered was settled between the two of them.

Officers issued a citation for underage drinking to a nonaffiliated girl in the U Lot at 2:38 p.m. The officer notified the girl’s father about the incident.

At 3:14 a.m., a Pitt police officer assisted city police with an investigation of shots fired in the area of Sennott and Atwood streets. An investigation is currently pending.

A guard in Alumni Hall reported at 9:01 a.m. that when he checks a certain door the alarm goes off because of the fact that there is too much give in the door.

Someone in Bellefield Hall requested at 12:19 p.m. that an officer unlock a lighting panel in the building. The officer complied with the request.

At 12:34 p.m., someone requested that an officer notify the family of a running who was taken to the hospital during the Great Race.

A woman reported at 4:39 p.m. that a man unknown to her had been harassing her at a number of off-campus locations. An investigation is pending.

Someone in Trees Hall reported at 4:49 p.m. that someone might have sustained a neck injury. Medics took the injured person to Children’s Hospital.
