City police are investigating a possible suicide on Melwood Avenue Saturday afternoon,… City police are investigating a possible suicide on Melwood Avenue Saturday afternoon, according a city police report.

At 4:42 p.m., the body of a man in his early 20s was found in a driveway along the 200 block of Melwood Avenue. The report said he died of a gunshot wound to the head.

The report indicated three women walking home from Hillman Library witnessed the shooting and police found two guns and a spent bullet casing at the scene.

The report also said investigators determined both guns belonged to the man, who is believed to be a student in the area. As of Monday afternoon, police had not yet released the man’s name because they have been unable to contact the next of kin.
