As the summer concert season winds down, it is suddenly getting hot in Burgettstown, Nelly comes to town to play at the Post-Gazette Pavilion. The 96.1 KISS FM Summer Jam presented, by KISS and Dodge, brings the St. Louis styles of Nelly to the Pittsburgh area.
After a very successful debut album in Country Grammar, the adoring eyes and ears of hip-hop fans around the world focused on Nelly. His debut album also received critical acclaim: It pulled in four Grammy nominations and helped bring Nelly a few other statues from other popular award shows. People magazine also placed Nelly among their list of 2001 “Breakthrough” talents.
Now, Nelly is back on the charts with his sophomore release, Nellyville, which has two hit singles, “Dilemma” and “Hot in Herre,” sitting one and two respectively on the Billboard Top 100 list.
Nellyville has been nothing but successful, debuting at No. 1 and selling more than three million copies within its first few weeks in stores.
Also on the bill is Naughty by Nature, who after being at the very top of the rap game in the early part of the ’90s, are back at with their new release, IICONS, and their new single “Feels Good” featuring 3LW.
Other artists that will make appearances at the event include, Clipse, Tanto Metro and Devonte, Avant, B-Rich, and the Pittsburgh foursome Strict Flow. And don’t be surprised if you see Nelly’s group, the St. Lunatics, onstage as well.
