In the name of consolidation and better resource management, the offices of Student Affairs and Residence Life are merging.
As a result, positions are shifting, changing and being eliminated. Among the changes, Director of Student Affairs Joe Cavalla will leave the University and his Residence Life counterpart, Denine Rocco, will assume a position within the merged entity Student Life. Student Life will be overseen by Birney Harrigan, who Daniel named to the position of associate dean of Student Affairs in November.
That has some people shaking their heads. Though the changes may initially seem logical in the effort to streamline University bureaucracy, the tactics involved seem sketchy at best. No official notification of the changes or Joe Cavalla
