Mary Defrancesco accepts her ring as part of the Order of the Engineer ceremony held yesterday afternoon in Benedum Auditorium. The ceremony, held at Pitt for the first time in years, is a promise made by engineers to remind them to practice integrity and fair dealing in their work. Thirty-three Pitt engineers were inducted in the ceremony, which consisted of reading the engineer’s oath and receiving a stainless steel ring to be worn on the pinky finger of the dominant hand as a reminder of the pledge.
