Trust in midst of fear brings out true spirit of homecoming

We are all taught at a very early age not to talk to strangers. Particularly ones in cars…. We are all taught at a very early age not to talk to strangers. Particularly ones in cars. Especially when they offer you a ride somewhere.

But Saturday night, as city and Pitt police converged on campus to address an anthrax scare, as students ran out of the library and their residence halls, as students current and past gathered to celebrate homecoming, the rules were different.

And that is why two freshmen took a chance on a ride with my friend and me
