The formation of the committee was announced on May 22 in response to more than five years of litigation involving Pitt and the American Civil Liberties Union, which represents seven current and former Pitt employees involved in the suit.
Vic Walczak, the director of the Pittsburgh chapter of the ACLU, said that he did not have a hand in selecting the committee members, but that “we trust that the committee will evaluate the issue fairly and impartially.”
The committee is comprised of six divisions of the University community, with two members representing each division. The six groups are members of Pitt
