Football: Defensive end Ejuan Price to miss 2014 season

Redshirt junior defensive end Ejuan Price will miss the entire 2014 football season as he recovers from surgery for an injury, Pitt Athletics announced Wednesday.

Price tore his left pectoral muscle in a team workout on Monday and will undergo surgery today.

This medical setback is the latest for Price, whose college career has been plagued by injuries.

Last fall, the Rankin, Pa., native injured his back in a Oct. 19 game against Old Dominion University and didn’t play for the remainder of the year.

Up until that point, he had amassed 23 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack and one pass breakup in six games.

He also missed the entire 2012 season while recovering from surgery on an injured right pectoral muscle.

“We are incredibly disappointed for Ejuan,” Pitt head coach Paul Chryst said in a release. “We will do everything we can to help him stay encouraged and focused through this challenge.”
