Defensive end Rori Blair charged with DUI

Pitt defensive end Rori Blair was charged with a DUI on Monday after he was stopped for speeding at 117 mph in March, according to Commonwealth of Pennsylvania court documents.

Blair, 20, was stopped for speeding in a 55 mph zone by a state trooper on the Fort Pitt Bridge at 3:30 a.m. on March 15. After he was stopped, the officer smelled “a strong odor of marijuana emitting from his breath and about his person,” police said in a criminal complaint.

Four months after the incident, Blair was charged with a DUI, speeding, careless and reckless driving and failure to wear a seatbelt, according to the court documents. A preliminary hearing date has yet to be set.

Pittsburgh Police took Blair to UPMC Mercy Hospital for a blood test, which came back positive for cannabinoids, according to the criminal complaint.

This is the second Pitt player to receive a DUI under Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi’s tenure, as wide receiver Tyler Boyd was arrested for a DUI in June.

Blair, a sophomore, led Pitt with 5.5 sacks last season.
