Pitt Police have arrested an Oakland man accused of assaulting a woman on Pitt’s campus.
Police now have Bochy Fu, 35, in custody after he allegedly assaulted the same woman twice within minutes on July 12. Police made the arrest Tuesday night around 10 p.m., according to Pitt spokesman John Fedele. Police did not release the name of the woman.
Pitt Police issued a crime alert on its website shortly after receiving the woman’s report and described Fu as an Asian male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, and wore a red polo shirt and carried a black backpack at the time of the incident.
Tuesday’s arrest was not Fu’s first. According to police, Fu was arrested for similar incidents several years ago. Fu previously attended Pitt from 2005 to 2008 in the Graduate School of Public Health.
Police credit the arrest to the “timely” report and a “thorough investigation.”
