The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation named Pitt junior wide receiver Tyler Boyd to the Biletnikoff Award watch list, the University announced Tuesday morning.
The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the best wide receiver in the nation. This is the third straight season the voting committee named Boyd to the watch list for the award.
The committee will announce the 10 semifinalists for the honor on Nov. 17, and then they will announce three finalists on Nov. 24. ESPN will air the announcement of the winner on Dec. 11, as part of the “Home Depot College Football Awards Show”.
Boyd was left off of the preliminary watch list in July. He currently has 21 receptions for 226 yards and a touchdown on the season.
The junior currently leads the ACC in receptions, despite missing the Panthers’ first game of the season as punishment for an offseason DUI arrest. He was named a preseason Phil Steele All-American, and he is also on the watch list for the Maxwell Award, which annually recognizes the nation’s best player.
Boyd and the Panthers continue their season on Saturday when they travel to Blacksburg, Virginia, to face the Virginia Tech Hokies. Kickoff is set for noon.
