The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office has released the names of the two people who were killed in an accident involving an SUV and a Port Authority bus Monday in the Oakland/Hill District area.
Carol Williamson, 68, and Henry Walker, 73, who was in a wheelchair, were a married couple from Wilkinsburg.
After stepping off of an 83 Bedford Hill inbound bus at the intersection of Allequippa Street and University Drive, near Pitt’s upper campus, the couple turned to cross in front of the bus when a black Kia Sportage struck Walker, knocking him under the bus. Stopping to try and help Walker, Williamson was pulled under the bus as it pulled away from the stop.
Both died at the scene. Pittsburgh police are investigating but have not yet filed any charges.
