South Oakland gas station robbed

Pittsburgh police are seeking a man suspected of robbing the Sunoco gas station on Craft Avenue in South Oakland Thursday night.

According to a release, police said officers arrived at the gas station on the 300 block of Craft Ave. around 11:44 p.m. and learned that a man had robbed business at gun point.

The release said the man, who police described as black and between 5 foot 10 inches and 6 foot tall, entered the store, pulled out a blue grocery bag from his pocket, then pointed a gun at the store clerk and demanded money from the register.

He stole an undetermined amount of money from the store, police spokesperson Emily Schaffer said.

As the clerk put money into the man’s bag, the man reached over the counter and grabbed the loose change from the drawer as well, according to police. The man then ran away from the store toward Kennett Square, the release said.

Police do not currently have any additional information about the suspect, Schaffer said.

A call to the Sunoco seeking comment from the business was not answered Friday afternoon.

Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call them.
