Oakland’s Crime Map for Feb. 26 – March 9

 

Friday, Feb. 26, 2016

10:05 a.m. Fifth Avenue at Bouquet Street. Pitt police responded to a report of an individual exposing himself. Police checked the area and didn’t find anyone exposing themselves, but an investigation is pending.

2:45 p.m. Delta Chi Fraternity. Pitt police responded to a report of money theft. An investigation is pending.

8:44 p.m. Petersen Events Center. Pitt police detained a juvenile for running onto the basketball court during the WPIAL playoff games. Pitt police confiscated a small amount of marijuana during the investigation, and then released the juvenile to his mother.

8:50 p.m. Petersen Events Center. Security confiscated a stun gun at the WPIAL basketball playoff games. Security gave the stun gun to Pitt Police, who placed it in an evidence locker.

11:41 p.m. Litchfield Towers Lobby. Pitt police arrested a non-student for defiant trespass.

11:51 p.m. Bates Street and South Bouquet Street. Pitt police cited two students for underage drinking.

12:38 a.m. Bigelow Boulevard and Centre Avenue. Pitt police arrested two non-students for summons for possession of small amounts of marijuana.

12:53 a.m. Sutherland Hall. Pitt police cited one student for underage drinking.

1:41 a.m. Litchfield Tower B. Pitt police cited one student for underage drinking.

2:01 a.m. Forbes Avenue and McKee Place. Pitt police arrested one non-student for driving under the influence.

5:02 a.m. Cathedral of Learning. Pitt police are investigating a security guard’s report of damaged glass on a vending machine.

6:57 a.m. Lothrop Hall. Pitt police responded to a report of marijuana smell. They escorted one non-student from the building and referred one student for judicial action.

1:08 p.m. Forbes Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard. Pitt police responded to a report of a trash can fire. Officers used fire extinguishers to put out the fire.

10:59 p.m. Soldiers and Sailors Memorial. Pitt police responded to a report that someone broke into a woman’s car and stole her purse. An investigation is pending.

11:42 p.m. Bouquet Gardens Building H. Pitt police cited one student for underage drinking.

12:27 a.m. Forbes Avenue and Atwood Street. After the WPIAL basketball playoffs, Pitt police responded to a report that someone in a car displayed a handgun, then left the scene. An investigation is pending.

1:55 a.m. Litchfield Tower B. Pitt police cited one student for underage drinking.

9:12 a.m. Centre Avenue and Bryn Mawr Road. Pitt police arrested a non-student for a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia.

11:29 a.m. Forbes Hall Pavilion. Pitt police assisted Conewago Township Police in serving an arrest warrant. Police took the actor into custody.

2:16 p.m. Litchfield Tower B. Pitt police responded to a report of a stolen wallet. An investigation is pending.

12:12 a.m. Pennsylvania Hall. Pitt police cited two students for marijuana and disorderly conduct.

4:54 a.m. 7-Eleven. Pitt police responded to a manager’s report of an employee smoking marijuana while working. Officers confiscated a marijuana cigarette and placed the item in an evidence locker. There were not any reported charges.

10:26 a.m. Fifth Avenue at the I-376 ramp. Pitt Police arrested one non-student for a summons for possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

3:55 p.m. Cathedral of Learning. Pitt police responded to a report of a bicycle theft. An investigation is pending.

6:45 p.m. Magee-Womens Hospital. Pitt police cited a non-student for defiant trespass.

7:19 p.m. Trees Hall. Pitt police responded to a report of clothing and cash theft. An investigation is pending.

11:14 p.m. Pitt police responded to a student’s request to report harassment by communication. An investigation is pending.

9:20 a.m. Biomedical Science Tower 3. Pitt police responded to a lab manager’s report of a grand balance scale theft. An investigation is pending.

11:20 a.m. Sennott Square retail stores. Pitt police cited a non-student for defiant trespass.

5:19 p.m. Litchfield Towers Lobby. Pitt police responded to a Sodexo employee’s report of harassment by another employee. An investigation is pending.

5:44 p.m. Forbes Tower. Pitt police responded to a UPMC employee’s report of a missing cell phone. An investigation is pending.

9:16 p.m. William Pitt Union. Pitt police responded to a report of four students receiving the same suspicious email. An investigation is pending.

11:22 p.m. Fifth Avenue and Thackeray Street. Pitt police arrested one non-student for aggravated assault, obstructing administration of law and resisting arrest.

12:27 a.m. 400 block of Boundary Street. An officer reported a suspicious vehicle and, while speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, found and confiscated a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

7:40 a.m. Parran Hall. Pitt police responded to a report of theft of work tools from a work site. An investigation is pending.

2:46 p.m. Public Safety Building. Pitt police responded to a student’s request for assistance with a verbally abusive boyfriend.

3:42 p.m. Public Safety Building. Campus security reported a domestic violence incident that occurred on April 29, 2015. The report said a victim reported she was choked and punched by her ex-partner in Posvar Hall.

4:35 p.m. Panther Hollow Lot. Pitt police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers detected a smell of marijuana coming from the car and referred two students for judicial action.
