Senior defensive tackle Aaron Donald picked up another award Wednesday night at the Wortham Center in Houston, Texas, as the Rotary Club of Houston presented Donald with the 2013 Rotary Lombardi Award.
The Lombardi is presented annually to college football’s best defensive lineman or linebacker.
“This is an incredible honor,” Donald said in a press release. “The name Lombardi says it all. All of the finalists are such great players. I’m blessed to be chosen for this award.”
Donald won the Bronko Nagurski Trophy Monday, and is a finalist for the Outland Trophy and and Chuck Bednarik Award. The two awards will be presented Thursday at the Dance Hall on the Disney Boardwalk in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
The Outland Trophy is presented to the nation’s best offensive or defensive interior lineman, while the Bednarik Award is given to the nation’s most outstanding defensive player.
Donald was also voted the 2013 ACC Defensive Player of the Year by both the Atlantic Coast Conference Sports Media Association and the league’s 14 coaches.
