7:43 a.m. — An individual reported part of the retaining wall came loose by the steps of Eberly Hall. An engineer was notified and the debris was removed.
11:00 a.m. — An individual reported a person attempting entry into a computer lab at Sennott Square. The incident was cleared.
11:29 a.m. — A key was recovered at Lawrence Hall. The item was placed in an evidence locker.
11:59 a.m. — A report was issued in error at Sutherland Drive.
3:32 p.m. — Pitt police assisted city police at 101 Schenley Drive with an aided case.
11:28 p.m. — Police spoke to individuals about an ongoing issue concerning loud parties at 2609 Parkview Ave.
Monday, Aug. 26
midnight — A Resident Director was concerned about a student who had not been seen for a day. Parents were contacted and told the child had withdrawn from school and was safe.
9:09 a.m. — An individual reported the loss of a laptop computer at the University Store on Fifth Avenue.
11:29 p.m. — An individual reported losing their cell phone and purse at Peter’s Pub. Both items were located during the investigation.
1:29 p.m. — Pitt police assisted city police with a robbery investigation at South Bouquet and Bates streets.
4:42 p.m. — An individual reported unusual postings on Craigslist. An investigation is pending.
5:38 p.m. — Police responded to a report of an unconscious individual at the William Pitt Union. City medics responded and transported the individual to UPMC Presbyterian.
6:20 p.m. — An individual reported receiving a threat via a Twitter account at Panther Central. An investigation is pending.
9:31 p.m. — Police recovered property at Hillman Library. The item was placed in an evidence locker.
Tuesday, Aug. 27
9:03 a.m. — An officer responded to the loading dock of Biomedical Science Tower Three to scan for suspicious packages. Items were checked with negative results.
12:22 p.m. — An individual reported finding two hypodermic needles in a stairwell in O’Hara Garage. Health and Safety was notified and the items were taken to UPMC Presbyterian for sanitary disposal.
3:34 p.m. — A wallet was recovered at 200 Coltart Ave. and placed in an evidence locker.
9:54 p.m. — An individual reported losing their wallet at the Cathedral of Learning.
9:57 p.m. — A necklace was recovered at Brackenridge Hall and placed in an evidence locker.
11:38 p.m. — A student reported that she was scammed into giving an individual money at Ellsworth and Negley avenues. An investigation is pending.
11:59 p.m. — Pitt police assisted city police with a report of an individual who was looking into windows. The area was checked with negative results.

12:20 a.m. — An individual reported the potential discovery of a bike in Posvar Hall that had been stolen in April 2013.
12:35 a.m. — Police responded to a request for a welfare check at Litchfield Tower B. Contact was made with the individual.
12:56 a.m. — Police arrested a non-affiliate for possession of a small amount of marijuana.
3:21 a.m. — Police responded to a noise complaint at 3412 Forbes Ave. regarding loud parties held in the Oakland neighborhood.
