The Pittsburgh Police are looking for an unidentified man who robbed the Dollar Bank in Oakland on Wednesday afternoon.
According to a release, a black man who appeared to be between 35 and 45 years old entered the Dollar Bank on the 3700 block of Fifth Avenue around noon and demanded money from the teller. He did not display a weapon, police said. The man put the money in a Victoria’s Secret shopping bag he brought with him and fled on foot, according to the release.
Police do not yet know how much money was stolen, police spokesperson Emily Schaffer said.
Police described the man as approximately 6 feet tall with a medium build. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a white hard hat. Schaffer said that the police are not investigating any local construction crews because the man could have been wearing the hat for multiple reasons.
The police’s Violent Crime Unit is investigating.
