Student harassed near Shadyside, police say

A  female student reported to Pitt police on Friday that she was harassed by a man while jogging on campus.

According to a Pitt police crime alert, an Asian man, described as about 75 years-old, grabbed the female student from behind and thrust his pelvis into her near the intersection of Ellsworth and South Highland Avenues.

After a bystander intervened, the man fled the scene toward Centre Avenue. He was wearing a “dirty” long sleeve jean shirt and khaki pants at the time of the incident, police said.

Another similar incident in the area was recently reported to the city police.

Pitt police and city police are investigating both incidents.
