The alert said “Campus operations can now resume normal activity.”
The shooting, which occurred before 2 p.m., disrupted much of Oakland Thursday. Multiple schools in the area started lockdowns and buildings around Western Psych were evacuated.
Pitt is currently on its spring break, but many campus buildings were scheduled to be open today, and the University also cancelled bus service around Western Psych for much of the afternoon.
A press release from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center confirmed the number of victims and that one of the dead was the alleged shooter.
Officials will likely provide more information at a 6 p.m. press conference. Check out pittnews.com and twitter.com/thepittnews for more information.
