Monday, Feb. 6

9:58 a.m. — Facilities Management reported some graffiti in the men’s room… Monday, Feb. 6

9:58 a.m. — Facilities Management reported some graffiti in the men’s room on the ground floor of David Lawrence Hall. An investigation is pending.

2:24 p.m. — Pitt police assisted city police with traffic control regarding a broken gas line at Bates and Atwood streets.

3:31 p.m. — Police received report of a suspicious package found on the basement level of Space Research CC. The item was an abandoned suitcase that was empty.

6:20 p.m. — Police received report of a suspicious person at the Cathedral of Learning. The person was found sleeping in the second floor men’s room. The person was identified and given property warnings.

7:18 p.m. — A person reported the theft of a wallet and iPhone at Trees Hall. An investigation is pending.

Tuesday, Feb. 7

1:39 p.m. — A person reported leaving an iPhone unattended at Benedum Hall and finding it missing upon returning. An investigation is pending.

4:38 p.m. — Police recovered a cell phone at the Cathedral of Learning. The item was placed in an evidence locker.

5:52 p.m. — A person reported losing a white bag at Forbes Hall.

Wednesday, Feb. 8

1:23 a.m. — Police received report of elevator entrapment at Thaw Hall. The Otis Elevator Company was notified and representatives released the person.

2:01 a.m. — Police recovered a check on the 3900 block of Forbes Avenue. The item was placed in an evidence locker.

5:30 p.m. — Police received report of a person who was bitten by an animal at Chevron Science Center. Health and Safety was notified and gave protocol instructions. The person refused any medical treatment.

10:14 p.m. — Police received report of a person having heart palpitations in Pennsylvania Hall. City medics responded and transported the person to UPMC Presbyterian hospital.

Thursday, Feb. 9

9:00 a.m. — Four vehicles were towed at Champions Drive and Robinson Street for parking where No Parking signs were posted. Traffic citations were issued.

12:57 p.m. — Police received report of a motor vehicle accident involving a University-owned vehicle on the 3900 block of Forbes Avenue. No injures were reported.

1:08 p.m. — Police received report of the following alcohol violations from Residence Life:

Jan. 19, 11:55 p.m. at Tower B — One student was found in possession of alcohol and was referred for judicial action.

Jan. 27, 10:28 p.m. at Bruce Hall — Two students were found in possession of alcohol and were referred for judicial action.

Feb. 1, 12:30 a.m. at Tower C — One student was found to be intoxicated and was referred for judicial action.

Feb. 2, 11:15 p.m. at Pennsylvania Hall — One student was found in possession of alcohol and was referred for judicial action.

Feb. 3, 10:40 p.m. at Holland Hall — One student was found in possession of alcohol and was referred for judicial action.

10:13 p.m. — Police received report of suspicious activity in David Lawrence Hall. The person was located, notified and given verbal warnings.

10:39 p.m. — A person reported the theft of a wallet at Trees Hall. An investigation is pending.

11:59 p.m. — Police assisted a person with a voluntary commitment at Litchfield Tower C.

Friday, Feb. 10

2:34 p.m. — During a traffic stop at Fifth and Craft avenues, police determined a driver had a suspended license. Police issued four traffic citations and the vehicle was released to a licensed driver.

12:47 p.m. — Police received report of a suspicious person that was touching a person’s foot in Hillman Library. The area was checked and the actor was gone on arrival. An investigation is pending.

1:04 p.m. — Pitt police assisted Pennsylvania State Police and city police with a drug arrest at the BQ Lot on Bouquet Street and Fifth Avenue. The actors were taken into custody.

3:18 p.m. — During a traffic stop at Champions Drive and Robinson Street, it was determined that a driver had a suspended license. Police issued a citation and the vehicle was towed.

3:21 p.m. — Police received report that a person left a book bag unattended at Hillman Library and found it gone upon returning. An investigation is pending.

5:19 p.m. — A person reported a hit-and-run accident of an unattended vehicle at the BG lot.

11:51 p.m. — A person wanted to file a miscellaneous non-criminal incident report at the 300 block of McKee Place. All parties involved were advised.

Saturday, Feb. 11

12:22 a.m. — Police received report of a person who fell and received facial injuries at Litchfield Tower A. City medics responded and transported the person to UPMC Presbyterian hospital.
