A power outage Tuesday afternoon affected multiple buildings for three to four seconds on lower campus. Students reported outages in Hillman Library, David Lawrence Hall, the Cathedral of Learning and Sennott Square on Reddit and Yik Yak.
University spokesperson David Seldin said Pitt is working with its power provider to investigate the cause of the outage. He said the redundant systems in place “functioned as designed,” significantly shortening the duration of the outage.
