An update on the Authority’s website stated that the cancellation was “due to very poor weather and travel conditions” on Pittsburgh roads. The update also stated that buses would attempt to complete their routes before returning to garages, but all bus schedules that began after 10 p.m. would be cancelled.

Pitt’s shuttle system was cancelled at about 10:30 p.m. with a number of shuttles still parked on Bigelow Boulevard.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for Allegheny County today that lasts until 10 a.m. tomorrow. The forecast includes 5-8 inches of snow, low visibility and ice on roadways.
