Meet the Editors | Copy

Greetings from the copy desk! You won’t see our names on many stories this year, but behind the scenes, we’re reading each one before it goes to print to check for consistency with AP style, ensure accuracy of our reporting and give feedback to writers. We have a great team of copy editors helping us keep The Pitt News polished.

Emily Harris, Co-Copy Chief

I’m Emily and I am the co-copy chief alongside Kyle! I joined the copy desk in my sophomore year and have loved being part of such a talented editorial staff that is rich in personality and ideas. Beyond The Pitt News, I’m a junior majoring in history and nonfiction writing. In my spare time, I like to be outdoors — ideally on a beach or anywhere that puts me near dogs. I’m also an avid reader who is trying to balance an antithetical love for lofty memoir and schmaltzy romance. With that, I’m proud to say I’ve already crushed my 2025 Goodreads goal.

Kyle Bozzetti, Co-Copy Chief

I’m Kyle. I’m a junior majoring in psychology and I work as a copy co-chief with Emily, meaning I help to ensure that everything posted by The Pitt News is accurate — grammatically, stylistically and factually. I’ve been working as a copy editor since my first year and copy co-chief since last semester. I love helping this newspaper and its writers keep their high standards of quality, and I’m excited to continue this year!

Besides finding and fixing errors, I’m an avid birdwatcher, and I love taking walks in Schenley Park while perhaps taking a few too many photos of robins and doves. At home, you might catch me composing music in my free time as well.
