Where and what to eat on campus

The Ultimate Access Tier meal plan will allow the student to eat at Market Central, Pitt’s ultimate dining headquarters located below the Litchfield Towers, as many times as they want.

In addition to this, students will have ten guest passes to Market Central and 30 dining passes to Market To-Go, which offers choice take-out meals from the shops within Market Central. Additional options for this plan include adding dining dollars. Dining dollars allow students to eat at the other cafeterias on campus. Like actual money, students may select a plan with either $150 or $300 to add to the Ultimate Access Tier meal plan.

Students may choose to have a set number of dining passes and dining dollars for the semester. Options include more dining passes and fewer dining dollars or the reverse, depending on your preferences and meal habits. Options range from 75 to 250 passes and $250 to $735 dining dollars. Most of the options also come with guest passes.

With any meal plan, students can choose to add Panther Funds. A set amount of funds are stored on your Panther Card and can be used like cash anywhere on campus.

When deciding on a meal plan, try to familiarize yourself with the options on campus and ask such questions as: Do I usually eat full meals or smaller ones throughout the day? How many meals do I eat during the week?

Keep in mind that you may change your meal plan until Sept. 7, 2007.

An outline of the food options on campus is as follows:

Market Central (Ultimate Access, dining passes, dining dollars and Panther Funds) New in fall 2007, the largest cafeteria on campus features many meal options.
